RAIDER'S MID SEASON
Kelowna Raiders Continue Dominant Run in 2025 Lacrosse Season
The Kelowna Raiders are riding high at the midway point of the 2025 lacrosse season, boasting a 4-1 record and sitting at the top of the standings.
Leaders in the League
Goalie Graham Cousins has been a fortress in net, leading the league in both save percentage and goals-against average, while captain Andrew Garant has been unstoppable on offense, racking up a league-high 47 points in just five games. The Raiders' defense has also shone brightly, allowing the fewest goals in the league—a testament to their discipline + physicality.
Tough Loss Fuels Focus
Despite their strong season, the Raiders faced a setback last week with a loss to the Armstrong Shamrocks. Assistant captain Will McIntosh reflected on the game, describing it as a wake-up call for the team.
"The Armstrong game was a tough loss but a great reminder that championships aren’t given—they’re won," McIntosh said. "When we win on Sunday, it’ll be because we stick to our systems, dominate loose balls, and stay disciplined on defense."
Eyes on the Prize
McIntosh also spoke about the team’s aspirations for the season. "The 2025 Raiders will be hoisting trophies this year—I have no doubt," he asserted. "We’re hungry to get the Rowcliffe Cup back home where it belongs. The Fred Doige Cup has gotten comfortable sitting lakeside with the fellas, and we’re not letting it go anywhere else."
Upcoming Matchup
The Raiders will look to solidify their first-place position on June 1st when they take on the Armstrong Shamrocks at 6:30 p.m. at Rutland Arena. Fans can enjoy the action for $7, with the beer gardens open to add to the game-day experience.
With their eyes on the championship and their feet firmly on the gas, the Kelowna Raiders are poised for an exciting second half of the season.
